Newark, NJ – Thibaut has
introduced “Repertoire,” a handsome collection of wallpapers
and fabrics in rich, luxuriant colors. Many designs are based on documents
that have a woven appearance. “Fortress,” for example,
is an Arabian tapestry design with a worn linen effect. A prominent
colorway entails the melding of terra cotta, burgundy, pale olive and
gold, while additional combinations feature mocha, dark gold, crimson,
and sand. “Indienne
Paisley,” an intricate large-scale
paisley design, and “Repertoire,” a medallion design, are
other rich patterns composed of hundreds of detailed color accents—including
robust colors like dark orange, chocolate, bark, olive, khaki, and
moss green. The detail and blending of colors create an overall subtle
effect. “Persian
Weave,” mimicking the look of a woven
rug, has stylized Jacobean flowers outlined with a vine trellis. This
pattern appears in opulent color combinations like wheat-gold overlaying
black.
Some designs in the collection have a “Country Club” look,
like “Wolverhampton,” which
features retrievers, shepherds and hounds framed with twigs and greenery. The
design occurs on striking backgrounds of suede brown, dark cobalt blue, dark
gold, and deep scarlet. “Tally-Ho” sports hunters on horseback delighting
in a fox chase. The design overlays a tight woolen plaid background. Other designs
include “Oak Leaves,” showing realistic foliage with acorns; “Sussex,” a
large-scale design of pheasants perched in greenery and sprays of reeds; and “Prints,” a
one-color block-print botanical design. A variety of companion sidewalls accompany
the designs, along with luxurious coordinating fabrics.
