– Cheery designs and colors are highlighted in “Sping Lake,” a new collection from Thibaut that is dotted with summery motifs. Patterns include beach umbrellas, cottage stripes, playful scenes of swimmers, shoppers and sunbathers, whimsical butterflies and grasshoppers, tropical vines and flowers, and brightly-colored imagery. Cornflower blue, raspberry pink, sunshine yellow, tangerine, and other vivid colors can be found throughout the collection.
A botanical study of lush foliage, “Lillian” features branching tropical vines interlaced with sweetsop fruit, tree frogs, caterpillars, ladybugs, grasshoppers, and butterflies. A coordinating pattern, “Margo,” depicts the same endearing imagery outlined by a delicate vine trellis. Both designs appear in vibrant colors on a striking black background. Other backgrounds include sky blue, raspberry, and yellow.
“Umbrellas,” a novelty design, is an open pattern with striped and polka-dotted beach umbrellas. The umbrellas are set against pink, periwinkle, lemon yellow, and sky blue backgrounds. Another playful design, “Spring Lake,” features carefree scenes from a resort town, with people sunbathing, lounging, swimming, enjoying outdoor dining, walks, sailing, and shopping. The vignettes are whimsically drawn and interspersed with palm trees, dogs, starfish, and lounge chairs. The drawings are bold, one-color depictions on white grounds—appearing in coral red, blueberry, black, mineral blue, and grassy green.
More fanciful images—including turtledoves, dragonflies, and woodland creatures—can be found in “Ladybird,” a soft watercolor-like Jacobean. The design is based on an historic document, and interpreted in elementary, simple shapes on cobalt blue, lemon yellow, light aqua, and black backgrounds. “Della,” a harlequin pattern, displays silhouettes of mums, roses, and Queen Anne’s Lace. The background has a fabric-like appearance, and is available in combinations of lavender and wisteria; powder blue and cornflower; lemon yellow and dark gold; and strawberry and deep raspberry.
An embroidered twining vine runs throughout “Jasper.” The delicate trellis design appears on tangerine, lemon, strawberry, and light blue grounds that have a linen-textured look. “Orchid,” a sophisticated feminine design, features elegant, potted flowers encircled by a bamboo trellis. The pattern is complemented by “Bamboo Lattice,” a coordinating architectural design. Both appear in a fresh, unique color combination of steel blue, strawberry and deep raspberry.
Inspired by traditional rugs, “Marseille” fabric and “Laran” wallpaper are embellished with primative medallion and diamond shapes. The designs incorporate soft colors like sage, butter, mineral blue, and aqua with vivid hues of coral, grass green, strawberry, raspberry, and cobalt. More of these hues can be found in “Santa Cruz” stripe, which features varying widths and alternating bars of color. This design coordinates with many other wallpapers and fabrics in the collection, as does “Chatham Plaid,” a small-check fabric.
