Randolf Plaid & Residence Damask
Newark, NJ – Thibaut's Residence collection is old world elegance with a sophisticated edge. Inspired by the flourishing artwork, paintings, and embellishments of the 14th – 17th century European Renaissance, designs have been enriched with sensuous textures and a refined color palette. Wallpapers are accompanied by luxurious printed and woven fabrics imparting a magnificent style and grace.
A cotton and linen blend and hand-stitched in India, Baron Crewel is an impressive multi-colored Jacobean pattern based on an antique document. The combination of scale, style, color and texture create a splendid, distinguished look.
Valencia, named after a Spanish City, is a textural arabesque with scrolling leaves encircling large urns. The pattern has a worn, aged look. A coordinating woven fabric, Lavolta Scroll, is a simple two-color rayon and cotton blend weave resembling a wrought iron trellis. Castello, another scroll design, was inspired by a 17th century Italian appliqué fabric of the Renaissance period. Metallic overtones give the design depth and shimmer.
Frotolla, named after a Renaissance dance, is a scroll damask with a silk texture. A striking effect gives the design a modern look. Frittola Silk, a 100% silk fabric, is printed with striped scrolling panels.
Another large-scale pattern with a clean, modern look is Luxembourg Damask. This design comes in a luxurious cut velvet fabric in a variety of colors found throughout the collection. Based on a document, Residence Damask is a traditional damask design with blurred, softened edges. It coordinates well with all other designs in the collection.
Inspired by a frieze from St. Petersburg, Renaissance has an antiqued texture with intricate renderings of arabesque scrolls and regal griffins and birds drinking out of fountains. With a softer touch, Robin is a delicate, toile-like floral design with large bouquets in vases, surrounded by birds and scrolling leaves. The design coordinates well with the crisp and finely woven Randolf Plaid.
There are two other notable woven fabrics in the collection, Nadia Trellis and Baltic Stripe. Nadia Trellis is a soft chenille lattice design, while Baltic Stripe is a multi-colored thick chenille. Both coordinate beautifully with multiple designs in the collection.
